Participation Guidelines

The SLEC Miles of Smiles 2025 (“Event”) is organised by St Luke’s ElderCare Ltd (SLEC). By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Participation Guidelines and the SLEC Data Privacy Policy (available at https://www.slec.org.sg/privacy-policy/), which together form a binding agreement between you and SLEC.

In these Guidelines, references to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to SLEC, its staff, volunteers, agents, partners, and appointed contractors.

Communication

  • We will contact participants using the email provided during registration for important updates about the Event. Emails sent to your registered address will be considered received.

Event Changes

  • We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or amend the Event at any time without prior notice.
  • In the event of cancellation or postponement due to circumstances beyond our control, no refunds will be provided. SLEC will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
  • We may update these Guidelines without prior notice. Please check the official Event page for the latest version.

Registration

  • You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete personal information during registration and to update your information as needed.
  • If false, inaccurate, or incomplete information is provided, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your registration.
  • We may limit or refuse any registration at our discretion.

Participation & Safety

  • You are responsible for your own health, fitness, and safety throughout the challenge. Please ensure you are in good physical condition before starting.
  • By registering, you confirm that you (or your child/ward, if registering on their behalf) are physically fit to take part in the Event.
  • The challenge period runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026. Participants may accumulate their distance over multiple sessions, but all activities must be completed and submitted within this period.
  • You may link your Strava account to your Event profile for automatic submission of activities, or upload activity details manually with proof from other fitness tracking apps or devices.
  • SLEC reserves the right to disqualify any participant if submissions are unclear, incomplete, or deemed fraudulent.

Liability & Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law:
  • SLEC is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or other loss arising from participation in the Event.
  • You agree to indemnify SLEC and its representatives against any claims, losses, or damages resulting from your (or your child/ward’s) participation.

Publicity & Media

  • By participating, you consent for SLEC to use your image, likeness, name, or any record of your participation in Event-related publicity, promotions, and future campaigns.
